Everyone deserves the quality of life, opportunities and choices afforded by an excellent education.
In practice, Senegalese educational systems fall short.
Gender, language, class and networks influence the quality and quantity of education a child receives. 75% of Senegalese speak Wolof, only 20% (mostly men) speak French fluently. Yet, most teaching, textbooks and other educational publications are in French. Teaching remains authority driven with minimal room for engagement, discussion, or delegating.
This results in:
42% of children are not enrolled in kindergarten by age 6
66% of school-aged children are not in school
50% youth literacy

In collaboration with Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education (ttps://www.gse.harvard.edu) scholars, conducted research and field study and, with Senegalese educators and students, produced pedagogical tools to accelerate classroom and experiential learning
